For nearly 100 years Carl Stuart Tailors have been crafting tailored suiting for all occasions from weddings to business suits, formal evenings through to leisurely casual days in town or in the countryside. We have been the proud flag bearers of the Yorkshire Tailoring Industry and History and as others disappeared from the scene, we have kept abreast of the latest fashions, creating new designs and cuts. We created the original British Made to Measure suit that all others have used as their benchmark around the country and for many parts of the world.

The British Made to Measure suit with the recognisably British style and cut was created by Walter G., the second bearer of the prestigious and well-earned title Master Tailor in our storied history. Initially intended for the business users, this quickly expanded to satisfy the needs for country and shooting wear and then also holiday wear. Our Made to Measure suits were now showing up on sunny beaches in the South of Europe and further afield as well. The tailoring team at Carl Stuart began working with cool wool and linen to create elegant looks regardless of the climate. Tweed suits have been a hallmark of Carl Stuart representing the beautiful Yorkshire Moors and Countryside.
